30 Days Meme: Day 3
I have not forgotten about my prompts for the drabble meme. They are coming. The LJ downtime, a wedding weekend, out of town guests, a birthday party, a going away party and a training schedule that included running +30 miles all in the past week and a half kind of got in the way.
In the meantime, though, there's this:
3 – For each of the fandoms from day two, what were your favorite characters to write?
Harry Potter – Ginny Weasley, you are apparently awesome and we never actually get to see it. Why don't you let me help you fill in those blanks?
Star Wars – This one is tough. If we're talking Original Trilogy I love me some Han/Leia and some Wedge Antilles. If we're talking the Expanded Universe (such as it is), I'm a Mara Jade girl – and seem incapable of writing her without some combo of Luke Skywalker and Talon Karrde in the mix. That said, I've been itching to write some Mara/Lando – largely because I'm not sure anyone else ever has*. (Please correct me on this point if I'm wrong, because I would so read that.)
Angel – Total ensemble show for me. You can't have one without the others. For minor/one-off characters, it's no secret that I had probably more fun than I should have writing Holtz and Justine.
Dr. Who – It's been so long I'm not even sure this one counts anymore. Jack was kind of fabulous, I guess.
X-Files/The Lone Gunmen – John Byers was my TV boyfriend for a long damn time.
Hercule Poirot – Oh, I love them all! Poirot, Hastings, Miss Lemon! I've never had occasion to write Ariadne Oliver or Japp, but I totally should.
Leverage – Tara Cole, easily. She's kind of unexplored and awesomely snarky, with some hints at interesting stuff happening under the surface there.
One Tree Hill – Oh, P-Sawyer, how I over-identify with you.
Stargate – This is all about the ensemble for me, especially if we're talking SG-1. I love them all in their own unique ways.
Veronica Mars – Lilly and Meg. They're both mirrors of different aspects of Veronica – and both wind up dead – and we never really get enough insight into either of them.
* In a legit way – not “Lando is just an obstacle to Luke and Mara's true love!” or (worse) “That never happened and here's why...!”
Previous days are here.
