I've posted this to Facebook, tumblr, etc., so figured I would do it here as well and see what happens. You never know who out there might be in the market for a fancy white dress, right? :)
I am selling the gown I wore at my wedding last summer.
For anyone who contacts me via FB, tumblr, LiveJournal or Dreamwidth, I'll offer an additional "friends and family (and fandom) discount" off the already reduced selling price -- and even throw in the veil for free. The dress is in great shape -- has been cleaned and stored since the wedding. It was altered to fit my measurements (more details if you click the link above -- I'm a size 6 and the dress was a size 8 so there is some wiggle room for it to be taken in or out) and has a French underbustle added for the train (which usually costs around $200 to have added to a new gown).
It's a mid-priced gown (originally around $2000) by a good designer, with good quality fabric (a heavy off-white silk taffeta) and some nice details. My asking price is around what you'd pay at David's Bridal, and the quality is arguably better. (Not a knock on David's -- they have some great options for the price, but the fabrics and stitching aren't fantastic given the price point.)
If someone wants it, I'm happy to pass it on. If not, back in the box it goes to sit in the closet. :)
